Los
últimos meses he andado perdida, lo sé, pero tengo una buena excusa. Hace poco
me mudé a León, Guanajuato con mí ahora marido y todo mi esfuerzo ha sido
concentrado en transformar nuestra casa en un hogar. Nuestro matrimonio ha sido
una transición bella y natural, y estoy feliz como nunca. ¡Pero no por eso
olvido todo lo demás! Acabo de finalizar un escrito sobre alguien que
representa un pedacito de Tepatitlán, el señor Rafael Bolaños, "El Charrito", "Chente". Al escuchar las
primeras notas de su voz en este video sabrás por qué le dicen así.

Gente bonita! Hace tiempo que tenía ganas de realizar un proyecto como este video que ahora les presumo, y se dio la oportunidad dentro del Colectivo El Zaguán. Presentamos por primera vez nuestro libro "El Zaguán, Diez relatos de periodismo narrativo", el sábado 27 de septiembre. El Museo de Tepatitlán estuvo totalmente lleno, fue todo un placer que nos pudieran acompañar en un momento tan importante para nosotros y para el Periodismo Narrativo en nuestra región. Si no tienen aún su copia, no se preocupen, la siguiente presentación será en el Edificio Administrativo de CUALTOS el primero de octubre a las 17:00 horas. Este año comenzó un proyecto que me emociona darles a conocer, se trata de "El Zaguán", colectivo periodístico en el cual colaboro y que este septiembre presentará su primer libro de crónicas de Tepatitlán. Aquí esta una nota de La Gaceta de la Universidad de Guadalajara donde hablan sobre el proyecto. El libro se distribuirá de manera gratuita, así que ¡estén al pendiente para ir por su copia!
Hemos llegado al final de la semana! Momento para revelar los resultados de mi experimento con bicarbonato y vinagre (más detalles aquí). Primero, una foto de mi cabello antes:
¡Pura hermosura! Lo sé, es impactante.
Día 1
¡Que apeste! Huelo a ensalada. Definitivamente tomará algunos días acostumbrarse a eso. Pero después de que se seca el cabello, todo bien.
Día 3
Me quedó un poco graso, así que utilicé más bicarbonato. ¡Ahora sí, esto va agarrando forma!
Día 5
Excelente. En lugar de mezclar el vinagre con agua, lo mezclé con té de manzanilla frío. Y agregué un poco menos vinagre de lo que indica la receta. Tomó un poco más de tiempo, pero deja un aroma más agradable :)
Día 7
Lo único que me podría preocupar es que este experimento estropeara mi cabello a tres meses de mi boda, pero en realidad se siente y se ve bastante bien. Aquí está mi cabello después de 7 días:
Conclusión
No regreso al shampoo jamás! Este sistema funciona mucho mejor porque no tiene químicos que dañen mi cabello, no contamina el agua, y me ha resultado un gran ahorro :) Si utilizas botellas que ya tengas en casa, tiene el beneficio extra de no crear más basura.
Usé ésta marca de vinagre de manzana orgánico...
Lo encontré en GNC, localizada en la Plaza Morelos para mis tepatitlenses ;)
... y el bicarbonato lo compré suelto en el mercado. Tiene el valor agregado de que puedes llevar tu propio contenedor y no generar más desechos. Mis hermanas creen que soy una hippie exagerada, pero creo firmemente que cada detalle hace una diferencia! :) El vinagre me costó $80, y el bicarbonato $10 por medio kilo. Considerando lo que he consumido en una semana, calculo que me durará otros dos o tres meses. Mi receta final se ve algo así:
2 cdas. bicarbonato sódico 5 cdas. vinagre de manzana

1 taza agua tibia 1 taza agua = =
shampoo acondicionador
Ya he eliminado dos productos tóxicos de mi vida, y estoy más convencida que nunca de seguir por este camino. ¿Qué otros productos te interesaría que pruebe? ¿Tú usas productos hechos en casa? ¡Cuéntame tu experiencia!
Quien me conoce sabe que me obtengo gran satisfacción de poder hacer algo yo misma. En algunas ocasiones he posteado mis intentos en diferentes disciplinas, como la gastronomía y la costura.
Ayer me topé con una receta para "shampoo" y "acondicionador" naturales hechos en casa, y comencé a experimentar sin pensarlo dos veces. Aquí tienen la receta que yo seguí, y la que utilizaré por esta semana.
1 cda. bicarbonato sódico 1/4 taza vinagre de manzana
+ +
1 taza agua tibia 1 taza agua = =
shampoo acondicionador
Guarda las mezclas en botellas o contenedores que ya tengas en casa
(como éste, de una loción desmaquilladora que ya se acabó). El chiste es cuidar el medio ambiente, y claro la cartera ;)
Así de fácil ;)
Si el olor del vinagre te parece demasiado fuerte, puedes agregar algunas gotitas de aceite esencial, de acuerdo a tu gusto. El artículo que leí en labioguia.com menciona que el aceite de árbol de té es bueno para quitar la caspa, el de romero para combatir la caída del cabello, y la lavanda te ayuda a relajarte y además deja un muy buen olor. Yo tenía menta en casa, así que ese usé.
Hoy es el primer día que me lavo el cabello con esta mezcla. El olor del vinagre se dice que desaparece cuando se seca tu cabello. El mio no se ha secado completamente, pero ya no tiene un olor tan fuerte. El domingo escribo de nuevo, para hacerles saber los resultados que obtuve :)
I've been on Instagram for something like two years, but I never really used it as anything other than a place for cute pictures of my food or crafts. I usually take lots of pictures at work (I teach English as a second language in Jalisco, Mexico), but most of those pictures are trapped in my iPod gathering metaphorical dust.
I'm starting the hashtag in the title of this post as a place to keep all those pictures. I want to share my ideas, activities, and lessons with others who might find them useful. This is my Instagram profile, check it out! Fellow teachers, please comment :)
Although I'm not very good at cooking, every now and then I feel the need to go into that kitchen and make something delicious. This time it actually worked out pretty well, these snack bars are both tasty and healthy. (They have granola, that counts, right?)
1. Pour some granola into a medium-sized bowl.
2. Add cereal, chocolate chips, gummy bears, marshmallows. Whatever you want, but the marshmallows are a must. They will keep everything else together.
3. Heat in microwave for 30 second intervals.
4. Mix in between, until marshmallows are all over everything else and you have this delicious-smelling, soft, gooey mixture.
*You can add all kinds of extra ingredients into this mix, experiment with it.
5. Butter up your hands a bit, and flatten out the mixture on a cutting board, cookie pan, or other flat surface you can put in a fridge. I used wax paper on top of the board, but it's not really necessary.
6. Stick in the fridge for a while. You can cut it before or after it's cooled down. I put this one in the freezer, that may have been too much.

I haven't posted in what feels like ages, so I think a quick update is in order. I finished doing the community service that was required in order to graduate, and this involved starting a blog/TV show and a gazette for my alma mater, UNID.
This was our first episode.
Both projects were difficult to launch, but they are both running now, under the guidance of the next generation of communicators to graduate. I recently began working at UNID, now as an English teacher, and I've embarked on the biggest journey of my life: my boyfriend and I got engaged. So, I've got quite a bit on my plate for the time being. I need to confess, I've been waiting for this moment ever since I watched The Wedding Planner.
Not the stealing another woman's fiancé part, just the perfectly organized, cool, calm and collected wedding planning.
I'm that weird girl that never actually thought of herself getting married, but for some reason thought being a wedding planner would be an awesome job. Now, not only do I find myself in a serious, loving relationship, starting a life with the man I love, (which in itself a fairy tale), but I get to plan our wedding! Design invites, make centerpieces and party favors, create a detailed timeline, decorate the venue, it's a die-hard DIYer's dream come true! But I digress.
Another great project I'm involved in is a journalism collective, El Zaguán. What we do is write narrative journalism. It's the mix of storytelling and hard cold facts, a beautiful and sometimes poetic way to present the world around us and to look a little deeper. We already have the blog running, and soon our first book will be published and distributed completely free of charge. It's a bit more challenging than what I was doing for my column, which means it's good; it's helping me grow as a writer. What we do is purely out of love for writing, as none of us get paid for our pieces, but we have come together to make this book happen and to keep the collective alive and writing, for the pleasure of the readers.
One of my jobs as a member of the collective is also to create a video clip introducing us to the world, what it is we do and why. I plan on taking a somewhat RSA-styled approach to this. In case you're not familiar with RSA video clips:

I find their videos to be so aesthetic and intuitive, it's absolutely inspiring. The way they present information in such a graphic way, it's just beautiful to me, a perfect balance of image and word. So, this video clip should be fun to produce. Hopefully it'll turn out better than my last video-related endeavor. Either way, I'll definitely be posting it here when it's finished, as well as the link to where you can download our book once it's available. I'll also post interesting or possibly useful bits of the wedding process as it develops. For the time moment, au revoir!
